  • “Some places in life we return to often. The residence of Jimmy Goldstein is likely the most iconic home in Los Angeles. I couldn’t have captured this shot with anyone but Gisele. Shot on negative film precisely after sunset but before full darkness, I needed Gisele to stand still for several seconds to properly expose the film. We did ten frames in total and any one of them could have been in my collection. Ten for ten describes Gisele perfectly.” - RUSSELL JAMES


  • At the heart of James’ Angels series are collaborations with many of the most iconic models of our time. The underlying premise is the impact and beauty of the figurative form in all its expressions, a shared part of the human experience. James says,

    “I often refer to this as my Trust series. It’s such a privilege that so many amazing people have entrusted me to capture such personal and intimate portraits. It’s partnership at its best.”

    There are two published books dedicated to this series: Angels (2014) and Angels Limited Edition (2018).
