Camera Work, Berlin: Peel Off Exhibition

Running from 28.03.2026 – 06.06.2026, Camera work Gallery presents Peel Off, a group exhibition dedicated to one of photography's most distinctive mediums: the Polaroid.

The exhibition brings together an exclusive selection of over 100 unique Polaroid works by sixteen internationally acclaimed photographic artists. All works are originals. The exhibition title refers to the characteristic process of early instant films, in which the negative was physically peeled from the positive after development — a moment of separation that is also a moment of revelation. The work emerges directly as a singular original, beyond any possibility of reproduction.

Eight signed polaroids by Russell James are included in the exhibition, shot across three decades — on set, on location, between worlds. The works span fashion, portraiture, and conceptual pieces, shaped by the nuanced tonalities and material presence unique to the Polaroid format.
