“Marloes is, to me, the reincarnation of the perfect subject from an early painting. She is the ultimate classic beauty, and her Dutch upbringing gave her the greatest appreciation of the female form. This selection from a series with Marloes is my baseline for figurative form. My role here was to light and capture, and to give her the blank canvas.”

At the heart of James’ Angels series are collaborations with many of the most iconic models of our time. The underlying premise is the impact and beauty of the figurative form in all its expressions, a shared part of the human experience. James says,
